Budget: Bolivia

We spent 18 days in Bolivia and spent a total of $1,570.  That means that we spent on average about $87 per day.

Our expenses were pretty evenly split: $500 on food and drink (about 30%); $340 on transportation (about 22%); $340 on entertainment (about 22% — this was mostly our bike ride down the death road). A major expense was our reciprocity fee at the border — $260 in total! Luckily, we didn’t spend much on camping as we were wild camping in many places in Bolivia.

The charts below should break everything down.  The chart on the left shows the primary categories.  The chart on the right will break down whatever primary category you select (just click on a wedge slice in the pie chart on the left).  Some reports that these charts aren’t working on Android devices; I’m sorry but I don’t own one yet so I can’t test it.
