All alone on the East Cape of Baja

One thing I have realized, when you are having long, blissful days camping on the beach, there is not much to write in a blog post. We have had no drama, no bad luck so far and the weather has been pretty great. We are really lucky and are just enjoying the moments as they come, soaking up the sun, friendship and the happiness.

After Cabo San Lucas, there is a dirt road that basically hugs the east cape of Baja. It is not a great road, but we met a girl Rose (who has been traveling all over the world for the last two years), and she drove it alone in a crappy rental car, so basically anyone can drive it if they are careful and have a spare tire. This road hugs some of the most beautiful beaches in Baja that are currently untouched. However, there were for sale signs on almost every property, so I am worried that ten years from now this lovely area will be built up like Cabo. I think currently only the bad road is saving it from being developed further.

Here we had another amazing free campsite where at sunset we were greeted by a group of horses slowly walking down the beach. They were the only people we saw here, it felt very isolated. Having miles of white sand beaches to yourself just does not happen that often, it felt like a gift.

Horses and sunsets.

In the morning, as we were getting ready to leave, I decided to go swimming because it was so hot. The water looked a little deep, but I swam through the waves and it was peaceful and perfect. I told everyone they had to join me and we had one of my favorite moments of the trip. We laughed, swam in the warm waters and could not believe that we were experiencing this. It was a perfect moment, I will always think back on it when I think about Baja and our time with Richard and Ashley.

The water was so warm we swam for almost an hour. It was amazing.

The view of our XP from the water. Loving that I bought a waterproof camera!

I loved this strange tree.

I will never forget our time on the east cape. It was stunning.
